Integrated Research (IR) is a successful Australian company exporting its “PROGNOSIS” software to customers in more than 50 countries. Working in our Head Office in North Sydney (with frequent international travel), this role offers an exciting opportunity to act as a technical solutions expert solving business problems for our existing and prospective customers.
As Technical Solutions Consultant, you will co-ordinate this activity and develop technical solutions to meet specific customer requirements that are not met within current product lines. These solutions tend to be repeatable, leading to resale and reuse.
Main activities:
Reporting to the PROGNOSIS Solutions Group (PSG) Manager, this hands-on role will be responsible for providing outstanding consultancy to our company’s existing and new customers, as well as developing new PROGNOSIS solutions.
Specifically, main activities are to:
- Provide PROGNOSIS consultancy services to IR customers and prospects.
- Analyse, design, develop, implement and support technical solutions using and leveraging PROGNOSIS for customers.
- Design and development repeatable solutions using a range of technologies, including compiled and scripted languages, PROGNOSIS, databases and reporting tools.
- Assist in requirements gathering for new projects.
- Assist with estimation and planning activities for new projects.
- Assist with aspects of IR sales processes as required.
- Build and deliver presentations and demonstrations of solutions to prospects, customers, partners and IR staff.
- Provide a repository of PROGNOSIS experience, skills and knowledge available to all IR staff and partners.
Requirements:
You will ideally have 2+ years in software development and prior experience in customer facing roles, as well as a thorough understanding of the software development lifecycle. Experience with Programming (Visual Basic, C++, C#, Java) and Script (TACL, Perl, Unix Shell) is desirable.
You will have a customer solutions focus and the ability to think laterally to overcome difficulties in problem analysis and resolution; strong communications skills, both written and verbal; excellent interpersonal skills; be a team player and also work autonomously; have the ability to prioritise and meet deadlines; and have excellent time management and organisational skills, with strong attention to detail.
Regular global international travel required (approx 2 trips per quarter).
