PROGNOSIS and Tiger Partnership redefines VoIP Quality of Service

19 Oct 2005

Integrated Research (ASX:IRI) developers of the PROGNOSIS IP telephony management suite, announced today a technical and marketing partnership with UK based Tiger Communications plc, the market leader in the provision of call management solutions. The technical agreement relates to the integration of the PROGNOSIS mean opinion score (MOS) algorithm with Tiger Communications’ voice traffic management, integration and billing solution. The partnership will see Tiger Communications advance its position as the number one billing solution by now offering the most accurate measure of voice over IP (VoIP) call quality available anywhere. The agreement also extends to joint marketing activities.

“The PROGNOSIS MOS algorithm closes the loop on service level management quality of service billing,” said Garrick Ovenell, PROGNOSIS product manager for UK and Europe. “Service level agreements can now be based on the quality of calls, rather than just on the quantity, as they are now.”

Stephen McCallum, Director, Tiger Communications said, "Tiger is delighted to be partnering with PROGNOSIS in delivering leading edge, service management functionality based upon industry standard mean opinion scores. Leveraging the strengths of both companies, customers are able to deploy and adopt flexible billing policies based on consistent service level measurements"

Garrick adds, “This partnership developed from working closely together to deliver a critical solution for a major joint VoIP customer and we now look forward to the expanded market opportunities that this partnership will bring.”
